2 Animals That Can Become a Nuisance to Your Business and What to Do About Them

Many animals can quickly become a nuisance to your business and bother your customers. Two of these animals are listed below, along with information on what you can do about them before they become a big problem.

1. Pigeons

If your business is near water and you live in an area where there are pigeons, these birds can get on your property. Pigeons are even worse because they may not be that scared of people so your customers may be fearful of them. Fortunately, there are things you can do to keep the pigeons away.

Consider adding a fence in front of the waterfront. This could work well if it is a small lake or a pond. Just make sure the fence is long enough so the pigeons will not get around it. Pigeons do not fly well and cannot get over a fence if it is a few feet high. There are fences made specifically for this purpose. You could also fence in your property to keep the pigeons out.

Put a decoy on your property that is near the water but not in sight of your business. One animal pigeons are fearful of is the coyote. Purchase one or more decoy coyotes and place them around your property to keep pigeons away.

If you continue to have problems with pigeons, there are pigeon control services that you can hire to take care of this problem for you.

2. Mice

Mice can easily get into a business as they can squeeze through tiny openings. If you have mice your customers may even see them at times. This not only looks bad on you, but your customers may be fearful of them. Mice can cause damage to your business as they will chew through wiring, insulation, drywall, and much more.

You can set traps to kill mice but make sure the traps are not seen by your customers. The last thing you need is for a customer to see a dead mouse in a trap. There are many traps you can purchase, such as the standard snap trap, bait stations, and more.

If you continue to see mice in your building, contact a pest control company. They can find where the mice are getting in and seal these areas up for you. They will then set up traps and/or use poison to get the mice out of your building.

Some other animals and pests can bother your business, such as raccoons, bats, and opossums.
